Pete Nilson

Client Service Representative

Though Pete always had an interest in all forms of life on Earth, Pete’s early background had no indication of working with animals. However, while doing special effects movie makeup in Toronto, he met his wife Sarah and her diabetic cat Stew. Together, following the medical care plan from a vet, they were able to manage Stew’s diabetes into remission and with constant monitoring and insulin injections, she lived many happy years.

After a move to Kelowna, BC, Pete found himself adopting a few rescue animals which are still a part of his family today, including a visually impaired cat named Clive Pissken and a Shih Tzu mix named Tyrion. In 2016, upon returning to Ontario and starting their farm, Unusual Acres, Pete and Sarah began fostering for Furry Tales Cat Rescue. Pete has cared for and rehabilitated many abandoned and sick cats and kittens. There were also 3 “foster fails” leading to the adoption of Myra, Loki, and Floof. With multiple furry family members. Pete became a frequent client at Blueberry Creek, and was very happy to join the Blueberry team in 2021.

Pete and his family have recently moved and are working towards establishing a new location for their “Unusual Manor”, which is consuming all his spare time outside of the clinic.
