Spay and Neuter
We recommend spaying or neutering all pets who are not destined for breeding. Sterilization provides many benefits, including reduced cancer risk, fewer unwanted behaviors, and reducing the pet population. Spaying (i.e, ovariohysterectomy) your female pet involves removing the uterus and ovaries, whereas neutering your male pet involves removing the testicles.
Our veterinary team can help you determine the best time to schedule your pet’s spay or neuter surgery. In general, we recommend that cats be spayed around 6 months of age to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Small dogs can typically be sterilized around 6 months of age; however, current recommendations for large-breed dogs (i.e., dogs weighing 45 pounds or more) depend on the age at which they are fully grown, which can vary from 8 to 18 months of age.
Orthopedic Surgery
Healthy bones and joints are vital for your pet’s overall well-being, and orthopedic conditions can limit your pet’s mobility and impact their quality of life. Whether your pet suffers an acute injury, such as broken bone, or has a chronic condition, surgery may be able to help. We offer a number of orthopedic surgeries to help your pet get back on their feet and resume normal activity.

Orthopedic surgery requires advanced training, and our skilled veterinary surgeons have experience with many procedures, including:

Fracture repair, including:
-
Repair involving bone pins and plates
-
Joint luxation repair
-
Limb amputation

Medical Imaging
Medical imaging allows us to look beneath the surface and see your pet’s internal structures. It is an invaluable tool in helping us diagnose a number of conditions, from intestinal foreign bodies, to urinary stones, to bone fractures. Our digital X-ray equipment provides clear, accurate images in a matter of seconds, so we can reach a diagnosis quickly and begin treatment. We also use veterinary ultrasound, which provides real-time images that allow us to evaluate organs, locate masses, perform biopsies, and confirm pregnancy.
Laboratory Diagnostics
When your pet is sick, you want answers as soon as possible, and so do we. Our in-house diagnostic laboratory allows us to perform common diagnostics, such as blood work, parasite screening, and urinalysis on site. That means we can often reach an accurate diagnosis in minutes, instead of days. In-house diagnostics allow us to begin treatment sooner. If your pet requires more advanced diagnostics, we will send samples to a veterinary reference laboratory, which can typically provide results within a few days.
