Dr. Greg Stevenson
Owner, Veterinarian
Dr. Stevenson earned his veterinary degree from the University of Guelph in 2003. After graduation, Greg practiced in Alberta and New Zealand before returning home to Eastern Ontario.
Greg is a fourth-generation veterinarian and grew up spending time at his father’s veterinary lab in Kemptville, as well as hearing stories about his grandfather and great-grandfather’s adventures in the early world of veterinary medicine in Canada, such as the challenge of using a horse drawn carriage to go on vet calls.
As the owner and founder of Blueberry Creek Vet Hospital, Dr. Stevenson made his dream a reality when he opened a small, one vet practice in Perth in 2012. As the practice and his team grew, they moved into their new custom built hospital in 2020, earned AAHA certification for excellence in practice and were thrilled to be able to expand fear-free and cat friendly principles Dr Stevenson has enjoyed bringing new surgical techniques and state of the art diagnostics into the practice. He feels fortunate everyday to work with the incredibly talented staff and clients who have joined the journey in bringing the practice to where it is today.
Although Dr. Stevenson enjoys medicine and surgery, of all aspects of practice he most enjoys working with pets and the people who take care of them. He feels privileged to play a role in the unique bond between humans and animals. Dr. Stevenson is a volunteer with Turks and Caicos Islands Vets and is proud to support a variety of local community groups and rescues.
Outside of work, Greg enjoys the many outdoor activities offered in Lanark County, such as boating, hockey, skiing and maple sugar making in the spring. Greg lives near Perth with his wife Clare, two daughters and 4 dogs (including two rescue Potcake puppies). His home is made complete with 2 cats and a motley crew of riding and pulling horses.
